The Center provides in-person and web-based education and resources for teachers, students, and the general public – all designed to improve science teaching and learning, while promoting science skills and literacy, and general understanding of biomedical research and STEM, in general.

  • Developers of numerous curriculum guides
  • Partners with the Houston Independent School District for the DeBakey High School for Health Professions, The Baylor College of Medicine Academy at Ryan (middle school), The Baylor College of Medicine Biotech Academy at Rusk (middle school)
  • Partnered with Bioserve Space Technologies on four ISS flight experiments for students (the Ants in Space experiment was sponsored by CASIS)
  • Created the long-running award-winning educational resource website BioEdOnline
  • Afterschool STEM programs with 8 elementary schools in Houston and 1 in Pecos Texas
  • Long history of grants through the National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, and other agencies and foundations
