SPACE STATION EXPLORERS PARTNER PROGRAM:
GENES IN SPACE
- Genes in Space is a nationwide challenge that invites teachers and students in grades 7-12 to design pioneering DNA experiments that use the unique environment of the ISSInternational Space Station.
- Student design spaceflight experiments that use PCR (polymerase chain reaction) analysis. Students may work on proposals individually or in a classroom, afterschool, or club setting. Students are making real research breakthroughs in this program!

Every living thing has DNA, but what does DNA look like? In this activity, students examine the building blocks of DNA and study the basic shape by making a model out of delicious treats.
