The ISS-Above is an educational device based on a Raspberry Pi computer. The ISS-Above connects to a TV or monitor and give information about when and where to look for the ISS. It links to live video from the external cameras on the ISS. LEDs on the device light up when the Space Station is passing over the user’s area. Knowing exactly where the ISS is at all times, and seeing what the astronauts are currently seeing out their Earth-facing windows, makes it feel like being there!
Liam Kennedy invented the ISS-Above as a way to excite students and the public about the Space Station and space exploration. After years of building each ISS-Above unit by hand, he is scaling up production as demand increases. Mr. Kennedy does not make a profit from sales of ISS-Above units. He makes them as affordable as possible for educators and students.
