Step 1: Letter of Intent Online Submission Form for NLRAThe abbreviation for an ISS National Lab Research Announcement. NLRAs are one of the ISS National Lab’s primary mechanisms to solicit proposals in specific research areas. 2025-1
This research announcement is for principal investigators or organizations that have successfully completed a previous project through the International Space Station (ISSInternational Space Station) National Laboratory and would like to conduct follow-on projects building on that work. To initiate the submission process for follow-on projects, offerors must complete an online Step 1: Letter of Intent form. The form can be accessed by clicking the GO TO LETTER OF INTENT FORM button at the bottom of this page. Each submission will be thoroughly evaluated to ensure it meets all necessary requirements, aligns with the solicitation, and demonstrates a need for access to the space environment. Offerors are expected to complete all required fields of the form diligently.
Offerors are encouraged to engage with an Implementation Partner early in the process. These partners collaborate with the ISS National Lab to provide specialized services related to payload development.
Instructions for completing the Letter of Intent Form:
- The form can be saved at any time by selecting “Save and Continue Later” at the bottom of the page. This allows for completion and submission later. After saving, you will receive an email with a link to the partially completed form.
- When the form is complete, click “Submit,” and a confirmation email will be automatically generated.
- Tooltips (indicated by an (i) icon) are available throughout the form, offering additional guidance when hovered over.
A document outlining the required information for the Letter of Intent form is available for download, which offerors may use for offline preparation.
Offerors should ensure that the value entered in line item 8 (Total from All Funding Sources) on page 4 of the online form (Project Budget) matches the amount in line item 3 (Total Project Funding Required). All budget entries should be provided in full dollar amounts.
