The ISS National Laboratory® hosted a pre-launch science webinar for media to highlight projects on the next Northrop Grumman commercial resupply services mission to the International Space Station (ISS). During the webinar, Phillip Irace, science program director for the ISS National Lab, Liz Warren, associate chief scientist for NASA’s ISS Program, and researchers provided general insights into the mission and answered questions from registered media.
NASA's SpaceX CRS-33 Overview Video - Tissue Engineering in Space
More than 20 investigations are launching to the orbiting outpost sponsored by the ISS National Laboratory. This mission, SpaceX's 33rd commercial resupply services mission to the space station funded by NASA, will bring a diverse mix of payloads to orbit. One of those investigations is from the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine seeking to advance tissue engineering in space to support future organ replacements for patients on Earth and beyond. This video highlights that investigation.

The webinar will showcase some of the exciting science sponsored by the ISS National Lab and NASA—from studies that could lead to new treatments for heart disease, neurodegenerative conditions, and bone loss to research testing valuable new capabilities for in-orbit data processing. These projects benefit humanity and drive a sustainable market economy in low Earth orbit (LEO).
