Orion’s Quest

Orion’s Quest engages teachers and students in authentic space-based research through live or virtual “missions.” Missions are free, standards-based, and manageable in scope for easy integration into curriculum. In each mission, students analyze photo and/or video data downlinked directly from the ISS and submit their findings to scientists, making real contributions to world-class research aboard the ISS! Choose from missions that focus on butterflies, plants, microbes, spiders, stem cells, and more.

Each mission features:

  • Mini-curriculum
  • Correlated classroom activities
  • Analysis of actual experiment photos and/or videos
  • Optional extension materials
