Sally Ride – First American Woman in Space

Today marks the 35th anniversary of America’s first woman in space. On June 18, 1983, Sally Ride launched into space aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger on what NASANational Aeronautics and Space Administration considered to be their most complex shuttle mission to date. Ride leaves a lasting legacy with the Sally Ride EarthKam program that allows everyone the opportunity to see Earth as only astronauts can.
