ISS National Lab Scientists to Co-chair Space Summit

Space Summit Conference Agenda Illuminates International Space Station Research

This May, SelectBio’s Space Summit conference will bring together researchers interested in conducting research on the International Space Station (ISS) and those who have already taken advantage of the unique conditions on and outside the orbiting platform to advance their research. Serving as co-chairs for the event, Michael Roberts, Ph.D, chief scientific officer for the ISS National Laboratory, and Kristin Kopperud, science program director in biological sciences, also with the ISS National Lab, are serving as co-chairs for the event. Both Roberts and Kopperud will both days of the conference with welcome remarks and an introduction to the day’s activities. They will also co-host or chair several events throughout the two-day conference, including a roundtable discussion, “How to Get Your Research Payload On-Board the International Space Station (ISS) – National Laboratory?” as well as a panel discussion, “Bringing EVs and Space Summit Together.”

The Space Summit will be held May 15-16, 2025, in Miami, FL, and provide attendees with networking opportunities, and an update on the impact of emerging private space stations in low Earth orbit (LEO) regarding pricing and access for researchers. Guest speakers will discuss the many research areas that can benefit from research in the space environment, including tissue chips, organoids, 3D printing, and flow chemistry.
