All offerors must complete for review an online Step 1: Concept Summary form. Concept summaries must be submitted electronically by clicking on the GO TO CONCEPT SUMMARY FORM button at the bottom of this page. Concepts will be evaluated for completeness in addressing all required elements, ensuring the proposed project’s scope is in alignment with the related solicitation and, if an experiment on the ISS is proposed, confirming the project’s need for access to the space environment. Offerors must complete all sections of the online concept summary form. During Step 1: Concept Summary preparation, offerors are strongly encouraged to identify and consult with an Implementation Partner—organizations that work with the ISS National Lab to provide services related to payload development. For a listing of these organizations, visit our Implementation Partner database.

Instructions for Completing the Concept Summary Form:
You may save your form at any time and come back later to complete your submission by selecting the “Save and Exit” button at the bottom of the page. However, access to the form ends after the specified submission deadline. If you elect to save and exit, you will receive an email with a link that will need to be used to access your partially completed form. Your concept summary form is submitted to CASIS once you click the “submit” button at the end of the form. You will receive a confirmation email soon after submitting your form.

When filling out the form, look for the information (i) button, which, when hovered over, will supply additional details.

You can submit multiple concept summary forms through this site, provided the emphasis areas and research topics are different for each concept.

You can also view a document listing the information requested on the online concept summary form. We advise offerors to work offline using the requested information as a reference before entering information on the online concept summary form.

Please limit your textual responses to a maximum of two typical-length paragraphs per question. Concise answers aid efficient processing of your application while maintaining clarity.

IMPORTANT: On Page 4 of the online form (Project Budget), be sure that the value in Line Item 8 (Total from All Funding Sources) equals the value in Line Item 3 (Total Project Funding Required).

The deadline for Step 1: Concept Summary submissions is April 24, 2024.
